Editing

Editing ensures that your book meets professional publishing standards. Editing your manuscript at the start eliminates revisions further on in the design process. (A preliminary editing evaluation is available from a professional editor, providing feedback on your manuscript.)

Interior Layout

The interior involves a well thought out and executed layout, careful font selections, and so much more…selection of paper stock, photos, illustrations, and a myriad of details must all work in harmony to create a subconscious appeal for the reader, as well as complement the exterior (cover) of the packaging. All interior layouts are custom designed to reflect the individual needs of the author and their subject matter. (Templates are never used.)

Press Production

Whether you’re considering print-on-demand (POD) for self-publishing, or choosing to print through a traditional print source, there are many print providers to choose from in today’s market. The steps in choosing one that best suits your needs should be the same.

  • Match your audience and distribution needs with the ability of the print provider.
  • The design of your book should fit with the specifications of your print provider (i.e., not all POD printers offer hardcover options, different providers offer varying paper weight selections for B&W or color interiors, different lamination options for the cover, etc.)
  • Inquire whether the print provider includes individual hard-copy press proofs (mailed to you for your review) for a fee, or free of charge? (Some providers offer a ‘bound’ sample of your book, which is more ideal when possible.)
  • Does your print provider offer E-Book conversion? Is it included in your package price or is it in addition to, for a separate fee?

Keep the ‘end result’ of your book in mind when choosing your print-on-demand provider or direct print to fulfillment source. And not to worry — we’ll go over all the various options WITH you!
